“Nothing At All (Dark)” is an incised encaustic and oil painting on panel by Michael Teters.

The work combines text-based conceptual art, geometric abstraction and materially driven painting. Letters carved into the wax give the language a physical presence, while the layered encaustic surface adds texture and depth. Its use of encaustic, repetition and familiar symbols has affinities with Jasper Johns, while the fragmented, stenciled language recalls the text paintings of Christopher Wool.
