“Night of Blue” is an original watercolor on two layers of paper by Susu Pianchupattana.

The work combines contemporary figuration, expressive watercolor and lyrical abstraction. Its stacked format reads almost like a small diptych, connecting the human figure with the shifting surface beneath it. Collectors may see visual associations with Henri Matisse’s emphasis on saturated color and simplified form and David Hockney’s exploration of figures, water and reflected light, though the piece retains Pianchupattana’s loose, layered approach.
