Boogie Buns by Susu Pianchupattana is a large-scale contemporary figurative painting depicting a sunbather standing at the edge of the ocean beneath a bold pink sky. Viewed from behind and wearing an oversized blue-and-white striped sunhat, the figure is surrounded by saturated washes of coral, turquoise, mustard yellow and electric pink. A luminous white sun and loosely painted waves give the beach scene a dreamlike, otherworldly quality.
Painted in oil on linen, the 36-by-48-inch work combines expressive brushwork, layered color and playful humor. Pianchupattana’s distinctive approach moves between abstraction and representation, transforming a familiar seaside moment into an exuberant exploration of the body, color and perception.

Had a lovely time here with my partner. I love the concept of the place. We especially appreciated that there were art projects available for a variety of skill levels. The staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful. The attached art supply thrift store is very cool too.

I hosted a small get together for my daughter’s tenth birthday and I couldn’t be happier.
The staff was kind, patient and encouraging. They truly made all of the girls feel comfortable and supported, helping them bring their ideas to life.
I especially loved that each child created something completely unique!
We recently held a team-building event at Asbury Park Art Club and had a fantastic experience. The venue has a cool, artsy seaside vibe and aesthetic that sets a creative tone. Our small group of 7 made Découpage Seashells, which is a seasonal project. Karen and her staff were very attentive throughout the process, providing guidance to our group and ensuring we had everything we needed. It’s the perfect space for a small group seeking a unique experience.
What a wonderful little gem in Asbury Park. We made our crafts and had plenty of encouragement from the owner and staff. I highly recommend this place for a fun afternoon with kids (and not so little kids!)
