Michael Teters

Michael Teters is a lifelong maker whose oil paintings, encaustics, and mixed media works explore belief systems, mortality, the occult, and the natural world. His art reflects both curiosity and contemplation.

Formally educated in physics, Michael has dedicated decades to art, complemented by teaching roles, classes, and a residency. Over 30 years, he has developed a voice that bridges science and mysticism.

Michael aims to evoke unexpected, profound feelings—encouraging viewers to experience new ways of seeing through symbolic imagery and layered textures.

I hosted a small get together for my daughter’s tenth birthday and I couldn’t be happier.

The staff was kind, patient and encouraging. They truly made all of the girls feel comfortable and supported, helping them bring their ideas to life.

We recently held a team-building event at Asbury Park Art Club and had a fantastic experience. The venue has a cool, artsy seaside vibe and aesthetic that sets a creative tone. Our small group of 7 made Découpage Seashells, which is a seasonal project. Karen and her staff were very attentive throughout the process, providing guidance to our group and ensuring we had everything we needed. It’s the perfect space for a small group seeking a unique experience.
