Geanna Merola is a photo-based artist rooted in Neptune and Ocean Grove, New Jersey. Working in both traditional and digital photography, she transforms everyday images into layered visual narratives that invite viewers to see the world from new perspectives.
Geanna’s process begins with observational photography and evolves through the combination and manipulation of multiple images. Her work ranges from quiet, singular moments to complex compositions filled with layered meaning—always with an emphasis on structure, balance, and curiosity.
Geanna holds formal training in fine art and photography at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her career reflects a lifelong commitment to creative exploration and to the evolving language of photography.
Her goal is for viewers to find unique perspectives in her work—whether appreciating composition or engaging with deeper narrative complexity.
“I often approach photography as a collector,” Geanna says, highlighting her love for gathering and reimagining visual fragments of the world around her.
